Educational Resources
Running a common interest ownership community association (condominium, co-op, time share, or home owners association) is complicated. Discovering what you need to know about the administration of your property takes some digging whether you are a board member or an owner. A principal goal of SCCA is to help you with that task. Therefore we will add information about educational resources here as we come across it.
Note: The subsection with links to Florida's common interest ownership statutes and regulations has moved to out Links page. Click the "Links" button at the top of this page.
Of course attending SCCA programs and listening to past programs on-line is always a good place to start. We do our best to bring in the best experts we can find to present topics of vital interest to you and your community. Click the "Programs" button at the top of this page for more information.

"On Demand Webinar: Inside an Insurance Coverage Lawsuit" "An insurance claim that develops into a lawsuit can be a process fraught with obstacles. This webinar, recorded September 29, 2010, reviews actual Florida cases where claimants filed suit against their insurance companies, each with very different outcomes. Ken Direktor, Chair of Becker & Poliakoff's community association law practice group moderates, with Rob Rubin, a trial lawyer in our West Palm Beach office, who provides insightful legal analysis of the cases. Special guest Andrea Northrop, a commercial insurance agent with Insurance Office of America, Florida 's largest privately-held insurance agency, presents an insurer's perspective."

SCCA furnishes and maintains a reference shelf in four Brevard Libraries. The documents we furnish are chosen to be of value to common interest ownership properties - the condominiums, HOAs, cooperatives and time shares. We buy the books and their updates and we donate them to the libraries at Cocoa Beach, Cocoa, Melbourne and Titusville The libraries file all of them with a common reference number so they appear together on a "Condo Shelf." We furnish Gray's Compendium, Managing the Florida Condominium, Condominium Concept, and other useful items. Ask the reference librarian where the Condo Shelf is located.
